Rain Garden at McDougle Middle School

Save Bolin Creek volunteers joined Friends of Bolin Creek last Friday at McDougle Middle School building a rain garden. Five 8th grade science classes met outdoors with NC State experts and Friends of Bolin Creek volunteers to learn about impervious surfaces, how cisterns can capture rain water, and how rain gardens can keep rain water on site while filtering pollutants. The students assisted NC State experts to complete the cistern and rain garden installation.

The pictures tell the story.
